Painting with Thread!

Hello! I’m Sila, a self-taught artist who uses traditional embroidery methods to create contemporary embroidery art. I’m originally from Turkey, have been living in Scotland since 2018.

I’ve always been “arty” and creative, loving to make things and experiment with different techniques and materials. I studied Fine Arts, Fashion& Textile Design and Fashion Styling in the past. I took up embroidery in 2018 and fell in love instantly. Thread painting gives me the opportunity to use all my skills in one and I simply love it. I get inspired by fashion, textures, cool street styles. Every piece I create has its own story; and they all are made with lots of love and passion. I like my works to take people to another world when they get lost in the details of tiny stitches.
